Joe Got Kicked Out Of A Bar Last Night
Justin, 9/23/2007 11:22:43 AM
It was pretty funny. We were at the Manayunk Brewery to celebrate his birthday, and he had a fun little interaction with one of the bartenders there. Maybe he will type up his account of the incident here for readers sometime soon. It was his birthday, so he deserves to be the one to tell the story. Rest assured though, it was pretty funny. Happy Birthday Joe!

Two Amateur Critics Square Off

Some readers of this site think that Justin and I give everything the exact same review. Some people (Justin) think that I rate arthouse crap too high and I'm too critical of mainstream fluff. How much truth is there to this?
Welcome to the first annual WWSG Movie Review data analysis!
I compared ratings for movies we've both seen and reviewed (and managed to type the titles the same) and came up with the following data based on a sample size of 166 movies:
Average Difference In Review: 0.64 stars (of 5)
Number of Movies Given Exact Same Rating: 77 (46%)
Number of Movies With Rating Within 1: 150 (90%)
Biggest Disagreement Ever: National Treasure -- Justin gave it a 5, I gave it a 2. This was the only movie with a 3 star difference.
Number of Movies We Typed The Title Differently: At least 41
So, there you have it. I think if this proves anything, it's that Hollywood needs to start coming up with less elaborate movie titles.

1.I've seen a LOT of movies the last couple years.
2.I've seen a LOT of BAD movies the last couple years.
Now just flipping through all my reviews and looking at the titles of movies I've seen, I realized that either do to so many movies being jumbled together in my head or just the fact that some were so bad I blocked them out, that I found myself not being able to remember pretty much ANYTHING from some of these flicks. In fact I had to wiki one of these movies (The Musketeer) just to remember who was in it and what the plot was.
Heres a list of some movies I remembered pretty much nothing at all from (give or take a scene or two).
The Musketeer
Changing Lanes
Serving Sara
Extreme Ops
National Security
The Hunted
View From The Top
Tomb Raider 2
Anything Else
The Cat In The Hat
Walking Tall
Chronicles Of Riddick
Shark Tale
The Man
Firewall
The Protector
