As some of you might know a recent goal of mine has been to visit all 30 Baseball Stadiums, combining my love of travel and baseball. But now I bring to you a new facet of this quest...why not combine my love of food with my loves of baseball and travel?!?!? How you ask? Well taking inspiration from the classic film Mr. 3000 and the bar/restaurant owned by Bernie Mac's Stan Ross, I decided to seek out other establishments owned by ex players...turns out when players retire they have nothing better to do with their time and money but to open bar grills if they haven't retired in disgrace scandalized by steroids (Barry Bonds and Rafael Palmeiro I'm looking at you.)
Anyways heres some of the restaurants I now want to eat at, and the teams they correspond with.
New York Yankees - Mickey Mantle - http://www.mickeymantles.com/about.asp
New York Yankees - Mariano Rivera -

(This place looks pretty swanky)
Florifa Marlins - Jeff Conine
http://www.conines.com/menu.htm
Kansas City Royals - George Brett
http://www.georgebretts.com/
St. Louis Cardinals - Albert Pujols
http://www.pujols5grill.com/
Milwaukee Brewers - Jeff Suppan
http://www.soupsgrill.com/
(that one is iffy though, Suppan's restaurant is actually in California.)
and finally, this isn't actually a restaurant, but now you can order filets, steaks, burgers, and online directly from the Strikeout King of Baseball Nolan Ryan! Because no one knows meat like a texan who threw 7 no hitters!

This summers looking interesting....lots of untested properties, fewer sequels (only 6 big ones:Mummy, Batman, Indiana Jones, X-Files, Hellboy, Narnia), and seemingly less movies overall. But there looks like theres some quality out there, and plenty superhero movies. I personally can't wait for Ben Stillers return behind the camera Tropic Thunder, and Seth Rogen's return to the big screen in the Pineapple Express. Finally don't forget...Sex And The City The Movie comes out May 30. And if you are a self respecting man you WILL NOT see it! Unless its just to sit there and heckle it and ruin it for others...but if you do that, please I implore you...Sneak in to the theater...don't add anything to its domestic gross. Thank you.

Without JRoll or Victorino, the Phillies need to make some careful changes to their lineup. If Charlie Manuel played fantasy baseball instead of tinkering with his fantasy bullpen, he might know how to overcome this adversity and not put Utley and Burrell's hot streaks to waste. Here's what I'd do:
1. Greg Dobbs (3B)
2. Pat Burrell (LF)
3. Chase Utley (2B)
4. Ryan Howard (1B)
5. Chris Coste (C)
6. Jayson Werth (RF)
7. Eric Bruntlett (SS)
8. So Taguchi (CF)
9. -P-
And my pitching rotation would look something like this:
1. Cole Hamels
2. Cole Hamels
3. Cole Hamels
4. Cole Hamels
5. Cole Hamels
1. Greg Dobbs (3B)
2. Pat Burrell (LF)
3. Chase Utley (2B)
4. Ryan Howard (1B)
5. Chris Coste (C)
6. Jayson Werth (RF)
7. Eric Bruntlett (SS)
8. So Taguchi (CF)
9. -P-

Here's my take:
1.Jayson Werth (CF)
2.Chase Utley (2B)
3.Pat Burrell (RF)
4.Ryan Howard (1B)
5.Geoff Jenkins (LF)
6.Greg Dobbs (3B)
7.Chris Coste (C)

To clarify: my lineup doesn't really make sense in a general context... it's only to make the most of a bad situation. With the exception of Utley, my 5 leadoffs have little to no base running proficiency. But these Rollinsgless Phillies don't seem to have any interest in moving men around the diamond. It's home run or nothing. Might as well try to dink out a few singles before someone smashes it into the upper deck rather than let Utley tee off on solo shots after two initial outs. Ah well.

Theres a little movie coming out at the end of the month called Harold And Kumar Escape From Guantanomo Bay...and after browsing around the movie website I found this little gem:

Thats the coolest thing I've found on the internet in about 3 days! Maybe I'll go to White Castle for lunch.

If you happen to see Harold And Kumar 2 don't forget to stay after the credits for some bonus Neil Patrick Harris...in fact I'm thinking of picking up How I Met Your Mother Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD for even more NPH.
