TW, Justin, and I had the opportunity to take in the Busch Gardens experience on Saturday. Joined by our new friend Jamie, we forked over the $56 admission fee for a chance to get Justin started on his summer of 50 roller coasters AKA 50 hours of waiting in line and 45 minutes of fun.
At this point, for fairness, I will note that for the same $56 charge, TW and Jamie bought season passes (needing only to weakly verify their Virginia residency by punching in their zip code into the automated ticket machine). Justin and I paid full price, a situation we hope not to soon repeat.
All we had time for was to ride the park's four coasters, the fifth, Griffon, opens May 25th.
1. Apollo's Chariot (***) - A fun ride, longer than most, but with no loops. Not bad to get the ball rolling, but nothing special.
2. Big Bad Wolf (**) - A hanging coaster with limited thrills, although it is interesting because it pulls you up two separate main hills, adding a lot of time to the ride length. This is one of the older rides there and it can cause some brutal whiplash.
3. Loch Ness Monster (***) - Another bumpy ride, pretty standard experience for a looping coaster. Has a bit of a curveball with an indoor cave portion which makes a few fast turns in completely darkness... this could have been used to better effect if perhaps the coaster dropped down a hill immediately after coming out of the darkness.
4. Alpengeist (****) - The best of the day was this hanging, foot dangling coaster. It was a very fast and very smooth ride with some loops and about 3 corkscrews. A lot of fun all around and it felt like the fastest ride of the day. I will also note that it had, by far, the longest line.

All that, plus I also ate a Churro and tried to win a giant stuffed Super Mario!

In an effort to become healthier, I accompanied my co-worker Paul to the GNC store in the mall this morning to get a breakfast energy bar.
I chose an XStart Xyience Xtreme Science Bar, Banana Nut flavored. I found its consistency to be very chewy, and the taste to be kinda strange...it was kinda wooden with a syrupy banana aftertaste. But I got through it without it pulling any of my teeth out.
So anyways I finished it at 10:20 am. So I'm going to do some updates throughout the day to see if I indeed am filled with more energy than I am on a normal working day, when I sit here with my head feeling like it weighs 230 lbs, and hanging precariously close to my desk, threatening to go unconscious.
Be back in an hour.

11:25 AM - First Update - Well, I don't feel tired, but I also don't feel like I drank a jolt cola either. But I am not really hungry, so at least its living up to its complete breakfast moniker.
1:35 PM - Second Update - Still feel pretty good...head hasn't hit the desk yet, and I had a couple bursts of hyper like energy earlier. At the same time my ear also hurts...but I don't think its a side effect of the Breakfast Bar, because it kinda hurt when I woke up. More updates to follow.
3:00 PM - Update 3 - I just went to lunch at On The Border and had 2 Carne Asada Steak Tacos...so does that render breakfast tracking obsolete at this point? Still feeling pretty good though.
Due to unforseen circumstances over the past hour I will no longer ever be eating Breakfast Bars for the rest of my life. EVER.
Suffice to say it has been one of the worst hours of my life.

Grindhouse? I'm curious why it had such a poor showing, besides the fact that I haven't seen but a single commercial for it...
I put my reviews of Planet Terror and Death Proof in the movie section. Despite my poor review of Death Proof, the answer is yes, you should see Grindhouse. I mean when will you have a chance to see such a thing in the movies again (especially given the opening numbers)? It was funny, it was violent, the soundtrack kicked ass. The fake trailers were incredibly clever. It was just really long. Especially when you just saw a different movie before it started.
Kill Bill and Sin City both opened to around $22 mil, I guess instead of making double that by combining the directors, they only made half. In the end, I think more people would go if it was billed as a horror film. Also, there were a lot of stars in it, but the ads mostly emphasized Rose McGowan whom nobody cares about. Of course, the length probably scared some people off too. That does not bode well for Tarantino's supposed 4 hour Inglorious Bastards screenplay.

You should offer the ticket stubs for sale on your website.

This site cracked me right up....and if you go to punk rock concerts you will see a lot of familiar faces here. I mean the "#1 Pete Wentz Fan" was spot on right down to the cankles. Check it out.
