So today is my last official day of being unemployed as I shove off in my new job on Monday morning, 9:00 AM sharp. I can't say it hasn't been an entertaining 6 months. No wait I can. I did manage to fit in a record number of naps after all. Really the trick to having nothing to do all day is finding someone who also has nothing to do, and then sharing in that joy with them.
But besides applying to countless positions and watching a lot of various daytime TV; (daytime TV is the culture of the unemployed after all) up to and including Full House twice a day for awhile, and becoming a big Amanda Bynes fan with her comedic turn on the sitcom What I Like About You, I also managed to accomplish some stuff. I'd like to say that I came out of this with a new career path or a great idea to make my life more meaningful by writing a book or doing something insane...but I didn't. I pretty much came out of it with a new job (which I'm perfectly fine with, who shouldn't be these days?), and this list of stuff I did. So enjoy the list! And I'm sorry I didn't post here more often in my time off....because I obviously had the time. My bad.
Justin's 6 Months By The Numbers
1 Time left the country (St. Lucia)
1 World Series Victory Parade!
2 Books Read (A Good Year, Batista Unleashed)
3 visits to NYC
3 times I was in a car accident where another car hit me. And that was in the first 3 months! Plus a flat tire, and 2 seperate car problems including needing a new alternator.
10 DVD TV Show Season Boxed Sets Watched (Seinfeld 7, Seinfeld 8, The Office 4, Kitchen Confidential 1, Entourage 3.2, My Boys 1, L O S T 4, 30 Rock 2, Its Always Sunny 3)
15 times I DJed...see, I wasn't a total waste
16 visits to Jule's Thin Crust Pizza of Newtown
48 visits to the Movie Theater (plus whatever I see before I start work Monday, so maybe an even 50!)
plus I carved a Jack O' Lantern for the first time ever, and I finally defeated Resident Evil 4. So I've gotta say I led a pretty full 6 months all in all. OK time to make the donuts...
And lastly, Happy Birthday shout out to Mike!
