So its a well known fact that I love to eat at all kinds of different dining establishments. Upscale, low rent, funky, whatever. From Burger Joints to Steakhouses to kiosks. Its all good. And of course I also love the Philly dining scene.
I also love to make lists. I have a list of places in Philly I want to eat at of course (#1.Alma De Cuba!)
That isn't the point of this blog though. The point is I was thinking about something the great Aaron Mclean (Mike's roommate for those of you new to these parts) said a few months ago. He said he would have to live in Philly until he ate at every restaurant there (he will be there until long after the end of time). But that would be impossible. The sheer amount of restaurants (even notable ones) that open and close and come under new management and change the menu or the whole place would make this task nigh impossible. So I've decided not to even surmount this.
But I can do something else.
I moved into my place in Holland on June 30, 2007. I am right over the border to the food rich town of Newtown and get most of my food there. After thinking about this I noticed that I had eaten at almost EVERY restaurant in Newtown. So I think that by my second anniversary of living here I can have eaten at every restaurant in the city.
So thats my new goal. As far as I can tell I have 9 dining establishments left. Can I finish the job? I think so.
