Black Friday is a time to be thankful

According to CNN, Black Friday sales were actually up 3% this year, whereas overall holiday sales only rose 2.2% last year. As a man on the street, or in the aisles, if you will, it didn't seem this way. Best Buy seemed eerily empty around 10:30 and throughout the day there seemed to be a lack of a shoppers and deals wherever I traveled. Then again, I didn't participate in the mad 5am dash simply because there was nothing remotely interesting on sale. Who are these shoppers stumbling out into the night to procure their cheap LCD tvs and blu-ray players? Do they realize there's a credit crisis going on? I'm holding out for all those going out of business sales the week after Christmas... perhaps I'll piss on the ashes of Circuit City in retaliation for all the hours of my life they took from me on previous black fridays with their lack of checkout efficiency.

WOW. Thats all you can say about the insanely, riotously hilarious season finale of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Featuring such instantly quotable bits as "Whose the mark?" And "What if its just a sexually charged embrace?" And the magnificent Charlie Day at his most disturbed and agitated best...if there was any justice in the world the guy would be up for a best supporting emmy.
It truly felt like the culmination of so many things in this series. Its really a show that rewards its long time viewers with constant recurring bits and characters.
Anyway I thought as a whole the season was more uneven than last, not in the least because it featured (to me at least) by far the worst episode of the series ("The Gang Cracks The Liberty Bell"), but at least that can be chalked up to being experimental.
Of course I also have to mention the highpoints of Dennis Reynolds:An Erotic Life (with an insane turn from Sinbad), Charlie's manic mailroom rant ("There is no Pepe Silvia!") in the The Secret of My Succe$s spoofing "Sweet Dee Has A Heart Attack", to the uber twisty backstabbing from the three guys in the "Mac's Banging The Waitress" episode, and Danny Devito's shining moment of Rambo flashbacks in the season opener Mac And Dennis:Manhunters.
You really can't quantify the amount of laughter to come out of this season. Its going to be a long 10 months or so until Season 5 for this Wildcard over here.
Maybe I'll take just one karate class to pass the time.
